The Honduras Red Point Cichlid is a beautiful and relatively peaceful Central American dwarf cichlid, closely related to the well-known Convict Cichlid but far less aggressive. Native to rivers and streams in Honduras, this species is admired for its shimmering blue-green body with vibrant red-orange highlights along the belly and fins. Males typically develop more intense coloration, while females display rich red tones, especially during breeding.
Unlike many Central American cichlids, the Honduras Red Point is community-friendly when housed with similarly sized peaceful fish, making it an excellent choice for aquarists who want the personality of a cichlid without extreme aggression.
