Description
White Halfbeak (Dermogenys spp.)
The White Halfbeak is a unique and fascinating surface-dwelling fish, easily recognized by its elongated lower jaw and streamlined body. Its silvery-white coloration with subtle iridescent hues makes it a striking addition to freshwater and brackish aquariums. Unlike most community fish, White Halfbeaks spend much of their time near the water’s surface, where they display lively social interactions and quick darting movements.
These fish are livebearers and relatively hardy once settled, though they prefer calm environments with minimal surface disturbance. Best kept in small groups, White Halfbeaks thrive in planted aquariums with open swimming space and floating cover.
