Frankei Danio (Danio frankei – Leopard Danio)

The Frankei Danio, commonly called the Leopard Danio, is a hardy and active freshwater fish with a beautiful spotted pattern reminiscent of a leopard’s coat. These small, lively schooling fish are perfect for community aquariums, adding constant motion and personality to the mid-to-upper levels of the tank.

Originally developed as a variant of the Zebra Danio (Danio rerio), the Frankei Danio is now recognized as its own form and is highly popular for both beginners and experienced aquarists. They are easy to care for, adaptable to a wide range of conditions, and thrive best in groups of 6 or more, where their playful shoaling behavior really shines.
