Overview:
The Kohaku Ricefish is a stunning ornamental variant of the Japanese Ricefish, inspired by the famous Kohaku Koi pattern. It displays a creamy white body with vivid red-orange patches along the head and back, making it stand out beautifully in both aquariums and outdoor ponds. Hardy, peaceful, and easy to breed, this variety is a favorite for aquarists and pond keepers alike.

Origin:
The wild-type Oryzias latipes is native to Japan, Korea, and parts of China, where it inhabits rice paddies, streams, and ponds. The Kohaku morph is a selectively bred color variety developed in captivity.

Feeding:
Omnivorous and easy to please. Accepts flakes, micro pellets, and live or frozen foods such as baby brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. A varied diet keeps colors bright and enhances breeding success.

Tank Mates:
Completely peaceful and well-suited to nano community aquariums with rasboras, small tetras, shrimp, and other calm fish. Keep in groups of 6 or more for natural social behavior and best color display.
