Description
Chalinochromis brichardi
The Chalinochromis brichardi is a unique and striking cichlid from Lake Tanganyika, well known for its elongated body, creamy-white coloration, and bold horizontal stripes running from nose to tail. With their sleek appearance and fascinating behavior, they make an excellent choice for aquarists looking to build an authentic Tanganyikan setup.
In the wild, C. brichardi inhabits rocky shorelines where they establish territories among crevices and caves. In the aquarium, they prefer a similar rocky aquascape with plenty of hiding places. Though territorial during breeding, they are generally less aggressive than many larger African cichlids and can coexist with other Tanganyikan species in a properly sized aquarium.
